One of Omega Phi Alpha's main principles is service. We do not only focus on one area of service, but four! Service to the university community, the community-at-large, the members of the sorority and the nations of the world. Our permanante project is mental health.

DANCE MARATHON
ZIGGYTHIN & BIKES FOR TIKES
DM this year was an incredible success. The BGSU community prides itself on the support for Dance Marathon throughout the year. This year, Omega Phi Alpha had 37 sisters participate, eight of which biked 180 miles from Cincinnatti to BG. Our team raised $14,165.00, which blew our $5,000 goal out of the water. DM next year will be April 8-9, so keep an eye out for our sisters donor drives!
OUR PHILANTHROPY
Mental Health
Our permant project is mental health. So we focus all academic year on raising awarness and funds for American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). This year for national suicide prevention week we were at union tables and in the union circle passiong out Hershey Kisses with statistics about suicide with the saying "kiss suicide goodbye." In addition to that, we had a wall of hope where people could write inspirational messages, and donate to AFSP. OUT OF THE DARKNESS WALK
Alpha Chapter has adopted the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention as our philanthropy. We host an annual Out of the Darkenss walk in the spring to raise funds and awareness for mental health and suicide. This year will mark our third annual walk, and every year we are growing in size and raising more funds.
DANCE MARATHON
Each year Omega Phi Alpha participates in Dance Marathon to raise funds for the childrens maricle network. This is a 24 hour event where you are on your feet the whole time. It is a great experience to know you are raising funds to save lives of young children.

WOODHAVEN NURSING HOME
Alpha Chater loves volunteering at WoodHaven nursing home in Bowling Green! We love helping with bingo and getting to talk with the lovely residents. It is such an honor to get to brighten their days once a week. We're not sure who is happier on volunteering days, the residents or our sisters!
